The Art and Records Behind the Designs

· The Band

Every design in our shop comes from the splatter-comic world of The Accüsed A.D. Some point back to the classic records, others are pure horror-poster art. Here's what each one shows, and where it comes from.

Which designs nod to the classic records?

The Return Of... borrows its words from The Return of Martha Splatterhead, the 1986 album by The Accüsed. A spiky-haired ghoul walks out of a ruined cathedral in stone grey.

Maddest Stories is the comic-book cover of Martha Splatterhead's Maddest Stories Ever Told from 1988: a blue-faced zombie bursting out of a heap of gore, framed like a horror anthology.

Which designs are horror-comic art?

  • Goddess of the Underworld: a knife-wielding ghoul on a wall of skulls, with a gold banner dripping green slime.
  • Knives: a grinning, rotting punk head over two crossed bloody knives, under an icy blue drip logo.
  • Green Ghoul: a slime-green, one-eyed ghoul over a lightning-edged rainbow logo.
  • Machete City: a giant grinning woman with two machetes, striding through a burning city in black-and-white line art.

Which designs keep it simple?

Grin is the horned Accüsed logo over a fanged face, all in one grey. Panic in the Casket is two-sided: a crowded monster-movie collage on the front and the red horned logo with the words Panic in the Casket on the back.

One design, every garment

Each design comes on a tee, a long sleeve, a crewneck and a hoodie, plus kids' and youth sizes, all with the same art. The product page tells you exactly what's printed on the front and the back.
